Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. Mumps led her to lose her hearing in one of her ear canals, but that did not stop her from fulfilling her dream. As a young woman she took classes in drama at college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Hunter relocated from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get films roles. In Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. In the three decades since she was a part of the film, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
